Now Available Online:

CAPstat - New York City Database of Federal Civil Rights Lawsuits Against Police Officers

From CAPstat.nyc:

"This data was collected from allegations contained in federal civil rights lawsuits filed between 2015 to June 2018 in the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York against NYPD officers for civil rights violations. On individual officer pages, it might also note other publicly known misconduct from criminal court decisions, news articles, data from 2011-2016 disciplinary summaries distributed by Deputy Commissioner of Public Information office, and overtime data.

This is a demonstration project based on a subset of publicly available data, which has its limits. Disclaimer. The lawsuits available to sort and filter were filed between 2015 and June 2018 in federal court, either in Eastern District or Southern District of New York, even though civil rights lawsuits may also be filed in state court. Information contained on this website is for information purposes only and does not constitute legal advice."
