I started practicing criminal law at the Legal Aid Society in New York City in January 1977. I entered private practice in 1983. Later, in 1995, I joined the Capital Defender Office where I worked as a defense attorney in State capital murder cases. There, I represented defendants in high profile criminal cases, including one of the defendants in the "Carnegie Deli Massacre" and the murder of an off duty police officer in Queens. I left the Capital Defender Office in 2005 and re-entered private practice. I represented Ronell Wilson in a Death Penalty trial in the Eastern District of New York. The death verdivt was recently reversed by the Second Circuit. I have also represented a defendant in a Child Pornography case in USA v. Pietro Polizzi where Judge Weinstein of the EDNY ruled that jurors are entitled to know the punishment in these types of cases. My present practice consists of State and Federal trial and appellate criminal practice in New York.

I have lectured in numerous colleges and law schools. I have also appeared as a Guest Commentator on COURTV.
